About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust. As a key member of our Mental Health Support Team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to children and young people in educational settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and deliver evidence-based interventions to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties.
  • Work in partnership with children, young people, and their families to develop plans for intervention and agreed outcomes.
  • Support and empower children, young people, and their families to make informed choices about the interventions being offered.
  • Operate from an inclusive values base, recognizing and respecting diversity.
  • Accept referrals within educational settings according to agreed local and national protocols.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in mental health, preferably with a CBT qualification for children and young people and families. The successful candidate will have experience in carrying out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and families. They will also have an understanding of evidence-based, low-intensity interventions for mild to moderate mental health needs and mental health and wellbeing support within community settings.
