Onsite Medical Representative Opportunity

Amazon is seeking an experienced and dynamic Onsite Medical Representative (OMR) to join our team in Scarborough, ON. As an OMR, you will play a critical role in supporting the health and well-being of our associates.

The successful candidate will work closely with the WHS site manager, WHS specialist, and Injury Prevention Specialist to provide first aid support, minimize associate risk of injury, and maintain accurate records of care provided.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing first aid support and making referrals to outside medical providers as necessary
  • Minimizing associate risk of injury through awareness, education, and proactive engagement
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided to associates
  • Coordinating and maintaining workers' compensation and return-to-work programs for associates with work-related injuries
  • Providing daily activity logs and end-of-shift reports
  • Engaging with associates and leadership on the operations floor to provide coaching on observed at-risk work habits
  • Maintaining a clean working environment and ensuring appropriate medical supply inventory
  • Participating in training and certification to facilitate first aid, CPR, and AED certifications
  • Maintaining all first aid, CPR, and AED credentials
  • Working flexible shifts, including days, nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Assisting with random saliva drug testing protocols
  • Maintaining effective care delivery in emergencies and assisting emergency response at the site
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A valid card evidencing successful completion of standard first aid with CPR/AED level A or C from a Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) approved certifying authority
  • One of the following:
  • Valid Provincial Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) Certification from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Canadian Organization of Paramedic Regulators
  • Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) from the Ministry of Health AND/OR the Provincial College of Nurses AND/OR Department of Health
  • In the last year, six months of job experience as a Military Medical Technician (Canadian Armed Forces)
Preferred Qualifications

Certified to teach first aid, CPR, and AED training from the Canadian Red Cross

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Experience with an industrial wellness program

Experience managing musculoskeletal disorders, ergonomics, and coaching on body mechanics

Demonstrated work experience with OSHA regulations and Workers' Compensation

Proficient in digital recordkeeping
