Job Title: Transport Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Transport Coordinator to join our team in Sheffield. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for effectively planning driver and vehicle resources to achieve delivery and collection times, while optimizing resources and adhering to relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating and updating daily run summaries to achieve delivery and collection deadlines.
  • Ensuring service levels are achieved and maintained, in conjunction with other departments.
  • Planning runs according to shift patterns and available hours, taking into account holidays and sickness.
  • Maintaining clear and effective communication with drivers, including accurate start times, load information, and directions.
  • Ensuring adherence to all statutory and legal requirements, as well as health and safety policies.
  • Assisting with disciplinary hearings and return to work meetings, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven knowledge and experience of tachograph and driving rules and regulations.
  • Significant transport experience within an FMCG environment, desirable.
  • Planning and organizing skills, with the ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver accurate information.
  • Good IT skills, including MS Office packages, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
