Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join our team at SGS Heating & Electrical. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out all areas of commercial gas maintenance and minor remedial tasks.

Main Responsibilities
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance: Ensure that maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules, frequencies, and industry best practices.
  • Defect Identification: Identify any defects found and provide parts lists and estimated timescales to complete the defects.
  • Boiler Handling: Ensure boilers are transported and handled in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all colleagues and customers.
  • Installation and Repairs: Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance, and plan operational duties, working with various systems and reporting as requested.
  • Appliance Maintenance: Likely to be involved with appliances such as small-scale plant rooms, centralised heating boilers, gas heaters, etc.
  • Customer Visits: Visit customer premises to fit, service, and repair boilers and centralised heating systems that have broken down.
  • Part Assessment and Replacement: Assessing, dismantling, repairing, or replacing relevant parts.
  • Team Support: Support the field service team and upkeep and maintain the various internal operational processes.
Key Qualifications
  • Domestic Gas Qualifications: Essential
  • Commercial Tickets: Essential
  • Commercial Catering Tickets: Highly Desirable
  • Commercial Experience: Experience working within commercial environments
  • IPAF and PASMA: Required
  • OFTEC: Desirable
  • Multi-skilled Experience: Multi-skilled experience within minor electrical/fabric tasks
  • Valid Driving Licence: Valid and clean UK driving licence
  • Location: Must be based within a commutable distance of Salisbury.
