Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Brakes. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, driving sales growth, and building long-term relationships with our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- To win new business from commercial customers with a food spend of £300,000 to £2m per year through active prospecting and pipeline management.
- To build cross-functional relationships with prospect customers to position Brakes as their preferred supply partner.
- To achieve and exceed sales and margin targets in line with the National Account New Business budget.
- To collaborate with the new business implementation team to launch new business wins.
- To identify joint opportunities for securing new customers with the wider UK group.
- To be a proactive member of the National Account team, assisting in the development of business goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a new business development or national account role with a successful track record in winning business in multiple sectors and tender management.
- Excellent customer relationship and rapport-building skills.
- Strong communication skills, both internally and externally.
- High-level structured solution selling and negotiation skills.
- Good commercial acumen and knowledge of key profit levers.
- Results-driven with high energy levels and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in all aspects of technology, including PowerPoint and Excel.
