Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Construction team at London Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and managing cost plans to ensure the financial efficiency and feasibility of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed budgets and cost estimates at various project stages, from initial concept to final construction, including internal costs.
  • Control project costs and prevent overruns by tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct accurate measurement, rate analysis, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within budget and provide optimal value.
  • Administer contracts for design and construction contracts as they are awarded, including change management.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a cost engineering, contract management, or commercial role within the construction or infrastructure sectors, working on projects typically over £5 million.
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a relevant engineering, construction, or business-related field.
  • Full working knowledge and understanding of using web-based contract management tools (e.g. Cemar).
  • Thorough understanding of NEC suite of contracts and associated contract administration and negotiations.
