Position Overview

We are seeking compassionate and driven individuals to become part of our supportive nursing team within our specialized HIV Networked service.

Our facility is a prominent acute care center with a significant patient population requiring dedicated support.

Located in a contemporary clinic, our team is committed to providing exceptional care to individuals living with HIV at various stages of their health journey, under the guidance of Registered Nurses.

A key responsibility of this role includes performing phlebotomy, with training available for those who need it. Additionally, you will be tasked with conducting asymptomatic sexual health screenings for both male and female patients, with training provided in this area as well.

A non-judgmental approach to HIV care is essential, and candidates must possess recent experience in an acute hospital setting or in HIV/Sexual Health services.

Primary Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant plays a vital role within the ward team, executing prescribed care and performing administrative tasks as directed by the registered nurse to:

  • Assist in delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure the department is maintained in a clean and well-stocked condition.
  • Engage in initiatives that enhance patient care and experience.
  • Proactively monitor and anticipate patient needs within established boundaries.

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, or a commitment to work towards a Diploma Level 2.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Understanding of the unique needs of individuals during periods of illness.

Experience
