Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Driver/Porter at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. As a key member of our Portering and Transport Services Department, you will play a vital role in supporting the care and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport patients safely and efficiently to various destinations, including appointments and outings.
  • Operate and maintain hospital vehicles to a high standard, ensuring they are clean and well-maintained.
  • Deliver gas cylinders and equipment to patient areas as required.
  • Remove and dispose of waste and recyclables from the hospital, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and furniture for functions and events.
  • Participate in the hospital's waste management program, ensuring accurate segregation and storage of waste.
  • Work collaboratively with the Portering and Transport Services team to ensure seamless patient transportation and support.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and data protection.
Requirements
  • Full and clean driving license with D1.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and use initiative.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions and policies.
