Job Title: Quality Control Analyst

Mackinnon Bruce International is seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Analyst to join their team at their UK HQ and Production facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the laboratory working area is maintained in a clean and orderly condition, and report any hazards or potential hazards to the Quality Control Manager.
  • Record, label, sample, and perform physicals, GC/MS, and FAME testing of essential oils as necessary.
  • Carry out chemical and physical analysis, and organoleptic evaluation of essential oils, blending, and carrier oils.
  • Participate in the organoleptic evaluation of essential oil matches.
  • Analyze products by GC/FID, GC/MS, and HPLC as required.
  • Perform data analysis, interpretation, and deliver reports.
  • Issue and update accurate Certificate of Analysis of raw materials and finished products.
  • Issue and update Technical Data Sheets for all products.
  • Organize samples and storage according to production date.
  • Communicate results to and liaise with other departments as necessary.
  • Perform and assess routine instrument validations to ensure systems are fit for use, including upkeep of routine instrument validation logs.
  • Maintain accurate analysis records in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices.
  • Assist in the implementation of Quality Management System ISO 9001 within the analytical Lab.
  • Work alongside the QA Manager to prepare assurance quality documents, including Standard Operations Procedures, Standard Testing Procedures, and Safety Procedures related to QC.
  • Create and assess company Regulatory Documents and assess supplier Regulatory Documents.

Preferred Skills:

  • GC method development skills, with experience with Shimadzu software preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Good organizational skills, problem-solving, team player, and good communication skills.
