Role Summary

We are in search of a proactive and strategic Finance Advisor to enhance our finance department. This role is essential for partnering with our Commercial, Operations, and People teams to elevate financial performance, support organizational growth, and achieve financial objectives. The successful candidate will possess robust financial expertise, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the skill to convey intricate financial concepts to non-financial audiences.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Analysis:

  • Collaborate with commercial and operational divisions to formulate annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
  • Deliver insightful financial analyses to facilitate informed decision-making, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Track and report on essential financial metrics, variances, and performance indicators.

Business Collaboration:

  • Serve as the primary financial consultant to the commercial and operations teams, providing strategic insights and financial guidance.
  • Work alongside departments to create business cases for new projects, campaigns, and investment proposals.
  • Assist in pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and financial assessments of customer and supplier agreements.

Performance Oversight:

  • Establish and implement performance management frameworks to evaluate the financial success of commercial initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the People team to analyze KPIs and specific metrics, aiding in strategy formulation and report generation as needed.
  • Partner closely with the operations team to streamline processes, minimize costs, and boost profitability.

Reporting and Stakeholder Communication:

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports, dashboards, and analyses to senior management and key stakeholders, in conjunction with the Finance Analyst.
  • Ensure timely and precise financial reporting in accordance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Support the Management Accountant in delivering accurate monthly management accounts punctually.
  • Promote a culture of financial awareness and accountability within the commercial and operations teams.

Strategic Projects:

  • Lead the financial components of strategic initiatives, including acquisitions, market expansions, and new service launches.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial systems, tools, and processes.
  • Drive ongoing enhancements in financial planning and analysis methodologies.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a finance business partnering capacity or a similar strategic role, ideally within the marketing sector.
  • Proficient in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborating with commercial, operational, and People teams to enhance business performance.
  • CIMA qualification preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and experience in financial planning and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
