Job Role:

As a skilled and versatile tradesperson, you will play a vital role in maintaining the fabric of HMP Cookham Wood, a Category C male prison. Your expertise in basic electrical, plumbing, and maintenance tasks will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of equipment and fixtures
  • Assist in the upkeep of the prison's building fabric, including painting, decorating, and carpentry
  • Use hand and power tools to complete tasks efficiently and effectively
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the facilities management team to achieve common goals
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance plans and schedules
Requirements:
  • Experience of working in a prison environment or a similar setting
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
