Position Overview

In response to our substantial growth and ongoing success in project delivery, we are seeking experienced Senior Project Managers who hold NEC3 and NEC4 certifications. This role is pivotal in assisting our clients with a diverse array of prominent projects within the Infrastructure sector, positioning you as a leader in the field while mentoring the next generation of Project Managers.

As part of our expanding team, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with clients to deliver a variety of intricate projects and programs. Your primary base will be in our London office, with opportunities to engage with colleagues and client teams throughout the region. Depending on client needs, many of our positions support a flexible working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Project Managers at Turner & Townsend:

Senior Project Managers at Turner & Townsend engage in a wide spectrum of projects and programs across Aviation, Roads, Rail, Telecommunications, Utilities, and beyond. We are in search of individuals who possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Extensive experience in managing infrastructure projects and/or programs throughout the project lifecycle, including: project management principles; achieving client objectives; contract administration; leadership and teamwork; financial oversight and project controls; health, safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
  • Proven experience in administering NEC3 and NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contracts, either currently in a named Project Manager role or having recently completed a representative role within the last year.
  • Exceptional leadership capabilities, adept at developing teams and guiding others through challenging situations or ambiguity.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, comfortable engaging with a diverse range of personalities across clients and partner organizations, and capable of establishing long-term trusted advisor relationships.
  • Robust problem-solving, analytical, and numerical skills, with the ability to swiftly comprehend complex issues and translate them into actionable solutions.
  • A proactive approach and dedication to achieving results, including the capacity to perform under pressure and inspire others.
  • Effective planning, communication, and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple work streams concurrently and communicate proficiently with senior client representatives.
  • Able to lead, manage, and cultivate project teams on large-scale projects or programs.
  • A creative, inquisitive, and growth-oriented mindset.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in procurement and management of NEC contracts.
  • Experience overseeing contractors, consultants, and other advisors on infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in consultancy or client-side project management.
  • Familiarity with public sector organizations, non-departmental or arm's length bodies relevant to infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NEC3 or NEC4 Accredited Project Manager is essential.
  • Degree or HND qualification in a management, construction, or infrastructure-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Professional affiliation, qualification, or near-qualified status with the APM, ICE, or similar professional institution.
  • Project management certification (APM/PRINCE2/MSP).
