Job Description Summary

The Electrical Engineer (EE) will lead the electromagnetic design for assigned projects, primarily involving high-speed permanent magnet alternators and motors. The EE will utilize in-house and commercial design software for lumped parameter calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) when necessary. They will interact with other design functions, including mechanical and design/drafting, while coordinating the EMAG design with associated power electronics and regulators.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Perform electromagnetic design analyses and calculations as needed.
  • Deliver analysis results to large audiences.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Team to achieve internal cost targets and establish cost objectives.
  • Meet project schedules and deadlines.
  • Coordinate technical design efforts with other Unison resources, including Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, and integrated product teams.
  • Generate comprehensive design and analysis reports.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in electrical engineering).
Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with FEA and EMAG design analysis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external customer organizations, including upper management.
