Position Overview

Coherent Scotland is seeking a dedicated Management Accountant to join our dynamic team. We are a leading provider of laser systems, committed to enhancing lives through innovative technology across various sectors, including renewable energy and life sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the annual standard cost setting process to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Conduct inventory reconciliation and leverage costing expertise.
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, ensuring the integrity of all reported data.
  • Analyze departmental expenditures, efficiency metrics, and manufacturing variances, identifying trends and insights.
  • Take responsibility for analyzing and reporting on Business Unit performance and results.
  • Develop comprehensive reporting tools for the contract manufacturing sector.
  • Support the management team in the formulation of budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide ad-hoc assistance to the Financial Controller and other management team members.

Essential Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to process and interpret substantial data sets.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with Hyperion or similar forecasting tools.
  • Strong communication and networking capabilities.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing costing principles.
  • Proactive and adaptable mindset.
  • Skills in business improvement methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with relevant certifications.
  • Experience in a high-volume manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, is advantageous.
