About the Role:

The Duty Manager is a key member of the YHA Ilam Hall team, responsible for supporting the management of hostel operations and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of hostel operations, including budget management and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
  • Utilize systems for efficient guest check-ins, check-outs, and other management functions.
  • Carry out cleaning and housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and comfortable environment for guests.
  • Assist in the kitchen and serve food and drinks with warmth and hospitality, enhancing the dining experience.
  • Deputise for the Hostel/Deputy Manager, managing the daily hostel operation in their absence.

Requirements:

  • Flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks.
  • Experience in a face-to-face customer service role, preferably in hospitality or customer service.
  • Desirable qualifications include Food Safety Level 2 and APLH Level 2.
  • Excellent communication skills and basic IT proficiency.
  • Good time management skills in a dynamic environment.
