About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Flow Coordinator to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of patients through our Elderly Care Wards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain effective internal communication pathways to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Utilize the internal escalation process to address any delays or issues.
- Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to adhere to departmental professional standards.
- Monitor the transport process and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Act as the first point of contact for users of the service, providing proactive support and welcoming patients and their relatives/friends to the clinical area.
- Collaborate with staff at all levels to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
- Liaise with the site team and other UHB hospitals to facilitate patient transfers.
- Ensure that all staff are aware of information that will assist in safe transfers and discharges.
- Promote timely transfers and discharges within agreed timeframes.

Requirements
- Good general education, including GCSE English and Maths.
- Business Administration NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in an administrative environment.
- Experience of dealing with the public and customer service.
- Experience of working in a secretarial/administrative role with a proven track record of problem-solving.
- Good organizational skills, ability to work under pressure, and multitask.
- Able to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team.
- Confident in dealing with people at all levels.
- Mature, open, and flexible approach to work.
- Demonstrates care and compassion.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
