About the Role

Caval Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our team. As a Site Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of new housing developments across Cumbria.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with Site and Technical teams to provide engineering guidance and ensure the smooth delivery of projects.
  • Conduct detailed surveys to a high standard and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the specified quality.
  • Provide design support and attend design meetings to ensure projects meet the required standards.
  • Supervise on-site labour, including subcontractors, and ensure compliance with planning regulations and current H&S regulations.
  • Develop project briefings, mentor junior engineers, and provide expert engineering knowledge to the project team.
  • Coordinate the appointment of utilities, create as-built surveys, and log data.
  • Assist with appointing subcontractors, provide progress updates to the Technical Manager, and contribute to project-related meetings.
Requirements
  • Proven history of working with market-leading housing contractors.
  • Experience working in a Site Engineering position within the housing/residential sector.
  • Relevant industry qualification and/or at least 5 years of experience in a build/civil engineering position.
  • Knowledge of IT skills, commercial awareness, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Prior interaction with NHBC/LABS/SBD standards and a strong understanding of construction laws and regulations.
