Estimator Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at AGM Construction Recruitment. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with construction and civil engineering projects, ensuring our bids are competitive and align with our commitment to quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with the project management and engineering teams to understand project requirements and objectives.
  • Analyze and quantify project materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Utilize industry-specific software and tools to prepare detailed cost breakdowns.
  • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals within designated timelines.
  • Evaluate and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and cost data to maintain accurate estimating practices.
  • Participate in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality.
  • Work closely with the project team to provide ongoing cost support and analysis.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of cost databases and historical cost data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction and civil engineering sector.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
