Job Title: Humanities Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Humanities graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain valuable experience in education and contribute to the academic success of students.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will provide academic support to students across various year groups in subjects such as History, Geography, and Religious Studies. This role involves working closely with teachers and students to enhance learning experiences and contribute to the development of personalized learning strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored academic support to students, both in-class and through one-on-one or small group sessions.
  • Assist Humanities teachers with lesson delivery, including helping to set up activities, preparing materials, and ensuring that students are engaged and focused.
  • Lead or support targeted intervention sessions for students who may need extra help in subjects such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies.
  • Assist in the creation and organization of teaching resources, such as lesson plans, worksheets, and visual aids.
  • Track and monitor student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the development of personalized learning strategies.
  • Act as a mentor to students, offering guidance and encouragement in both academic and personal development.
Requirements:
  • A recent graduate in a Humanities discipline, such as History, Geography, or Religious Studies.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • A patient, empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to help students overcome challenges and succeed academically.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic school setting.
