Science Graduate Teaching Assistant – Audenshaw

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated "Good" secondary school in Audenshaw. This full-time role is set to start in October and will continue until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming a permanent position depending on performance. The pay for this role ranges from £419.25 to £500 per week.

Role Overview:

As a Science Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will support the science department by helping to deliver high-quality education across various scientific disciplines. This position is ideal for a recent science graduate who is passionate about education and eager to gain valuable experience in a school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Support: Assist science teachers in preparing and delivering lessons, ensuring that students are engaged and that all classroom activities run smoothly.

  • One-to-One and Small Group Support: Work with students who may need additional help with science topics, providing targeted support to help them understand and apply key concepts.

  • Resource Preparation: Help set up experiments, prepare teaching materials, and organize resources to ensure effective learning experiences for students.

  • Assessment Assistance: Support teachers with marking and providing feedback on students’ work, helping to track and monitor student progress.

  • Student Mentorship: Act as a mentor and role model, encouraging a positive attitude towards learning and helping students to develop their scientific knowledge and skills.

Ideal Candidate:

  • A recent graduate with a degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Passionate about education and interested in pursuing a career in teaching or educational support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Organized, reliable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
