In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining Teradata databases, ensuring data integrity, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver insightful business intelligence solutions.

  • Responsibilities:
    • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and user-defined functions for efficient data retrieval and manipulation within the Teradata environment.
    • Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and ETL developers to understand complex data requirements and ensure accurate data representation.
    • Implement robust data modeling techniques and adhere to best practices in database design to optimize performance and scalability.
    • Conduct thorough database performance tuning and optimization activities to enhance query efficiency and overall system responsiveness.
    • Actively participate in the testing, deployment, and maintenance of database changes and new features, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
    • Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues, resolving problems promptly and effectively.
    • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database objects, procedures, and applications to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development efforts.
  • Qualifications:
    • Possess a strong understanding of Teradata SQL syntax, database design principles, and data modeling methodologies.
    • Have hands-on experience with Teradata utilities, tools, and scripting languages (e.g., Teradata SQL Assistant, BTEQ, FASTLoad) to perform efficient data management tasks.
    • Demonstrate familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques to ensure optimal query execution and system responsiveness.
    • Grasp the fundamentals of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts to effectively analyze and interpret data for actionable insights.
    • Be proficient in agile development methodologies to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced development environment.
    • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve complex database issues.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
