In this pivotal position, you will play an essential role within a dynamic team dedicated to ensuring the secure operation of the firm’s central cloud infrastructures. As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cybersecurity & Technology Controls division, you will be a vital member of a team focused on delivering public cloud solutions that meet established functional and user specifications while proactively preventing misuse and malicious activities. As a primary technical contributor, you will be accountable for implementing critical technology solutions using secure, auditable methods across various technical domains and business functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the execution and refinement of a comprehensive information risk and control strategy aimed at safeguarding the public cloud's information assets.
  • Oversee security assessments of cloud infrastructure platforms and conduct threat modeling, including code evaluations.
  • Provide risk-based evaluations of secure technology controls related to cloud services, platforms, and architectural components.
  • Support technology teams in comprehending firm control requirements and their application across diverse cloud architectures.
  • Contribute to documentation and agile methodologies in support of security initiatives.
  • Collaborate with broader Cybersecurity teams to ensure platform integration with security operations, threat intelligence, identity access management, and network security.
Required Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
  • Formal education or certification in security engineering principles.
  • Strong interest in understanding and securing public cloud technologies.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, comfortable in both remote and in-office environments.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with internal management, peers, regulators, and senior stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience in developing, engineering, or architecting solutions within a public cloud environment.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies such as Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and understanding of DevOps or CI/CD practices.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Capabilities
  • Knowledge of Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) tools.
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud are advantageous.
