Fusion People Ltd is seeking skilled Electrical Assembly Technicians to join our engineering team in the Burton-on-Trent area.

Job Purpose:


The primary responsibility of the Electrical Assembly Technician is to ensure that all components are assembled according to the latest specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Construct new and modify existing steel racking in preparation for projects.
  • Remove outdated circuit boards/PCBs from previous frameworks.
  • Install purchased equipment and circuit boards into electrical racks following technical schematics.
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop wiring harnesses for initial units.
  • Perform hard wiring of electronic racks based on technical drawings.

Future State:
Transitioning to the installation of pre-built wire harnesses.

  • Soldering and crimping tasks.
  • Conducting pin-to-pin testing.
  • Key electrical testing experience is essential for this role.
  • Complete all necessary documentation and inspection sheets, applying quality stamps as required.
  • Participate in training sessions as needed.
  • Work collaboratively within a team to meet tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of panel wiring, cable management, and electrical systems.
  • Support all relevant 5S initiatives.
  • Ensure preventive measures are applied during maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials.
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions diligently.
  • Take responsibility for personal health and safety, as well as that of colleagues, promoting a positive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Report any safety concerns, hazards, or incidents promptly to facilitate investigation and prevention of recurrence.
  • Ensure that activities and measures taken do not compromise but rather support the maintenance of the company's ISO (9001, 14001) standards and certifications.

Qualifications/Education Required:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Service is preferred.
  • Previous experience in the rail or automotive sectors is advantageous.
