About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist school for children with Autism, ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) in Guildford, Surrey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to students with SEMH needs, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement behaviour plans.
  • Support students in learning and achieving their academic and personal goals.
  • Manage behaviour in a positive and proactive manner, using de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention strategies as needed.
  • Build trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and inclusion.
About the School

Our school provides a therapeutic and nurturing learning environment, tailored to meet the unique needs of students with SEMH. We work closely with local communities, including a local farm, to provide a holistic and engaging education.

Requirements
  • No specific qualifications are required, but a positive and non-judgmental attitude is essential.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience working with children and young people from disadvantaged backgrounds is desirable.
