Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Operational Safety Manager to join our team at Siemens Energy Limited. As an Operational Safety Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the implementation and consistency of operational safety rules and regulations within our organization.
Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and maintain high voltage safety rules and procedures
* Ensure regular safety audits and inspections are conducted to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety laws
* Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure high voltage equipment is accurately maintained and operated
* Provide training and mentorship to employees on high voltage safety protocols and standard processes
* Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to high voltage safety and implement vital changes to company policies and procedures
* Investigate and analyze safety incidents or near misses and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences
* Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and industry organizations to ensure compliance with safety standards
* Ensure adequate training facilities and materials are available to support the application of safety rules
* Chair the Safety Rules Committee Meetings and report back to the Business Manager
* Serve as a point of contact for all Safety Action Plans (SAPs) within the business as a point of escalation
Requirements:
* A qualified degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, occupational safety, or a related field is required
* Experience in UK high voltage safety management, preferably in an industrial or utility setting
* Certification in high voltage safety or a related field is preferred
* In-depth knowledge of high voltage safety laws, codes, and standards
* Strong leadership and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional teams
