Role Overview
We are establishing a specialized Litigation Hub within our Employment Legal Practice Group, focusing on managing high-volume Employment Tribunal cases primarily for Respondents. The Litigation Assistant will be an integral part of this hub and can operate from any of our office locations.

Key Responsibilities
The Litigation Assistant will exclusively handle Employment Tribunal matters within the Litigation Hub. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting senior associates and partners with ongoing cases
  • Managing individual cases under supervision throughout the claim lifecycle
  • Engaging in contentious Employment Tribunal work, typically involving higher volume matters
  • Maintaining regular direct communication with clients

Career Development
The role will evolve based on the Litigation Assistant's skills, aptitude, and the needs of the Litigation Hub, with opportunities for career advancement within this specialized area.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three to four years of experience in handling Employment Tribunal matters. While formal qualifications are not necessary, experience in the following areas is essential:

  • Drafting merits assessments
  • Instructing and collaborating with counsel
  • Preparing ET3s and Grounds of Resistance
  • Drafting applications, orders, and lists of issues
  • Managing disclosure processes
  • Proofing witnesses and drafting witness statements
  • Preparing bundles for hearings
  • Conducting any other necessary preparations for hearings

The candidate should demonstrate the ability to manage a busy caseload with competing deadlines, possess strong analytical skills, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. A proactive approach to anticipating client needs and a collaborative spirit are essential.

Travel Requirements
The candidate must be willing to travel across the UK to attend hearings as required.
