The Position:

In the role of Trainee Manager at Majestic Wine, you will be instrumental in assisting the Store Manager to drive sales performance and manage daily store operations. Your primary focus will be on ensuring exceptional customer experiences, optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs), and maintaining operational excellence while mentoring and developing junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the charge in enhancing store performance and operations in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Identify and capitalize on sales opportunities to meet KPI targets through effective planning.
  • Deliver top-notch customer service to build loyalty and promote business growth.
  • Provide personalized service to customers, keeping them informed about products and tasting events.
  • Engage customers with your product knowledge through interactive tastings and discussions.
  • Assist in team recruitment, development, and enhancement of product knowledge.
  • Ensure the store is well-presented and operationally efficient.
  • Recognize and implement strategies for improving store operations.
  • Adhere to policies, processes, and training requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication of updates within the store and the wider region.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

  • Experience in a dynamic retail or hospitality setting.
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Understanding of retail KPIs and strategies for improvement.
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Self-driven team player with excellent communication abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and a solution-focused approach.
  • WSET Level 2 qualification is required, with a willingness to pursue WSET Level 3 for career advancement.
  • A valid UK/EU/EEA driving license with a clean record.
