Business Development Manager

This is a newly created role due to growth in the business.

Reporting to the Head of Business Development and with supervision and support from the Senior Business Development Manager, you will work on the account management of existing business relationships and outreach to generate new business opportunities.

You will support with key business relationships, developing new business opportunities and existing business relationships, moving them all up through the sales cycle.

Business Development Manager Responsibilities

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for:

Upselling and cross-selling to achieve new sales and expand existing business relationships

Identifying new target markets and business opportunities

Implementing clear strategic business plans via consultative selling techniques to lead proposals from initial enquiry through to onboarding and business support

Leveraging industry contacts, sales insights, and existing business relationships via marketing campaigns to drive engagement and new business revenue

Successfully converting and maximising new business opportunities across incoming and outgoing opportunities, tenders, proposal construction and negotiations

Keeping the business database up-to-date and maintained weekly to ensure forecasting and reporting are accurate

Business Development Manager Experience

To be successful in the role you will have a B2B business development background from within a consultancy business. You will be open to learn and open-minded, resourceful and able to use your initiative to manage your workload and time to achieve targets. You must have excellent attention to detail and communication skills. You will be experienced at the full sales cycle from identifying the target market to updating the business database, creating a marketing plan with the marketing team, researching, through to identifying and understanding client's business needs, mapping out their business teams to getting buy-in and closing a deal. You must have experience of selling, bidding and proposal management with a consultative selling style and be a strong influencer, collaborative in a team environment and hungry to hit targets. You must be independent and able to work remotely with minimal supervision.
