Family Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family & Volunteer Support Worker to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Family & Volunteer Support Service, you will play a vital role in improving the overall social visitor experience of our hospital, enhancing the lives of our patients by bringing the outside in.
As a Family & Volunteer Support Worker, you will be responsible for managing the centralised social visitor booking services, ensuring the smooth operation of overnight accommodation and the Child Visiting Suite. You will also assist in the organisation of Social Visitor information, events, and training days, as well as supporting Ward Carer Links as part of the Triangle of Care agenda.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the centralised social visitor booking services for onsite and virtual visits, overnight accommodation, and social visitor event days.
- Have In-Charge responsibilities on social visitors' and child onsite visits, often being the sole member of staff on those visits.
- Ensure the Social Visitors overnight accommodation and the Child Visiting Suite run smoothly and in accordance with procedure and risk assessments.
- Have competent admin skills, including the use of databases.
- Assist in the organisation of Social Visitor information, events, and training days.
- Support Ward Carer Links as part of the Triangle of Care agenda.
- Assist in the recruitment and induction of volunteer visitors.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in social care, mental health, or a related field. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people. You will also have a strong understanding of mental health and its impact on families, as well as knowledge of diversity, cultures, and minority groups.
Desirable qualifications include a health or social care qualification, a counselling or therapy-related qualification, or a training and teaching qualification. You will also have a current UK driver's license and use of your own car.
