Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and lead operational teams to prioritize safety in all activities.
  • Ensure teams receive adequate training to meet competency and compliance standards.
  • Promote a culture of "right first time" to reduce customer complaints.
  • Proactively manage future works and programs to minimize disruptions and preventable mistakes.
  • Review and approve contractor method statements and risk assessments.
  • Conduct regular safety audits to identify hazards and implement necessary controls.
  • Manage vehicles and drivers to adhere to driving standards policies and the highway code.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with exceptional people management and delivery skills, excellent communication abilities, and diplomacy. Experience in a similar role in the utilities/water sector is desirable, with a health and safety qualification such as IOSH. Desirable qualifications include NRSWA, SMSTS/SSSTS, and CDM training.
