The Greater London Authority is dedicated to supporting the Mayor of London in achieving strategic objectives.

About the Team
The Policy and Delivery Unit is a pivotal component of the Mayor's Office, led by experienced professionals focused on driving the Mayor's agenda across various sectors. This unit collaborates closely with senior advisors to ensure that policy initiatives are effectively executed and aligned with the Mayor's priorities.

Role Responsibilities
This position is integral to the Policy and Delivery Unit and is ideal for individuals seeking to advance their careers in policy development, project management, or public sector campaigns. Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing comprehensive support to the Heads of the Policy and Delivery Unit, including administrative assistance and quality assurance of unit outputs.
  • Facilitating the governance and smooth operation of essential policy forums, ensuring effective collaboration among stakeholders.
  • Assisting senior leadership in overseeing the implementation of the Mayor's strategic priorities.
  • Serving as a liaison for senior officials and policy teams engaging with the unit.

Daily Activities
Your typical day will involve:
  • Preparing briefings and updates for colleagues on various policy matters.
  • Supporting leadership in managing daily and weekly priorities.
  • Participating in meetings with senior staff, documenting actions, and ensuring follow-through.
  • Collaborating with various departments to advance policy initiatives and program delivery.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • Experience in policy development within a governmental or large organizational context.
  • A solid understanding of devolved governance and experience working with political figures.
  • A proven track record of providing professional advice and building effective relationships with senior management.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
