Job Description

Job Title: Deputy Nursery Manager

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team at Paint Pots Nurseries and Pre-schools. As a Deputy Nursery Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operation of the pre-school in the absence of the Manager and will work closely with the Manager and staff to provide a dynamic, active learning environment for the children.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management: To assume responsibility for the daily operation of the pre-school in the absence of the Manager, ensuring a safe and clean environment for children, staff, and others.
  2. Compliance and Quality: To understand and have a good knowledge of the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage, the Inspection Handbook, Ofsted, and Local Authority requirements, ensuring the setting meets the highest standards of care and education.
  3. Partnership and Collaboration: To develop partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child's development, working closely with the Manager, staff, and outside agencies to ensure the continuing development and high standards of care and education in the setting.
  4. Record Keeping and Assessment: To be responsible for the maintenance of records and the assessment and recording of development, progress, and attainment for every child.
  5. Safeguarding: To be the Designated Safeguarding Lead for the setting, alongside the Manager, ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the setting.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 Early Years Qualification.
  2. Skills and Experience: Excellent communication skills, knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, and experience in a similar role.
