We are seeking a talented individual to join a clinical-stage biotechnology firm that is at the forefront of innovative technologies enabling precise modulation of gene expression. Utilizing AAV vector technology, our organization boasts a rapidly expanding portfolio that addresses various therapeutic domains, including neurodegeneration, oncology, metabolic disorders, and degenerative eye diseases.

Position Overview

The Senior Research Scientist will play a pivotal role in the technical execution of development initiatives and will provide essential support to the preclinical team in vector innovation. Your expertise in AAV vector development will be crucial in advancing our drug pipeline within the preclinical framework.

  • Apply your knowledge of AAV vectorology and molecular biology to propel the AAV platform forward. Collaborate in the development of our next-generation AAV platform and in the design and evaluation of libraries of capsid variants. Create and implement assays for the quantitative measurement of gene expression in cellular models and assist in the production of AAV vectors.

Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Senior Research Scientist position will possess the following qualifications:

  • Extensive theoretical understanding of molecular biology, vector design principles, and AAV vectorology.
  • Robust technical capabilities in molecular biology, particularly in cloning methodologies.
  • Familiarity and hands-on experience with AAV biology and vector production.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques such as Western Blot, qPCR, and flow cytometry, along with the ability to conduct thorough data analysis, troubleshooting, and optimization.
  • Insight into CNS/Neuroscience research, particularly related to retinal and/or cerebral studies.
  • A PhD in molecular or biological sciences; or an MSc in molecular or biological sciences with 1-3 years of experience in academia or the biotech sector; or a BSc in molecular or biological sciences with 3-5 years of relevant experience in academia or the biotech industry.
