About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Economist to join our Biofuels & Chemicals team at GlobalData Plc. in Oxford. As a Senior Economist, you will play a key role in analyzing the dynamics of global biofuels and their interaction with raw material markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze supply/demand, pricing, costs, policy, and sustainability in the global biofuels market.
  • Develop forecasting tools and build economic and financial models to support our clients.
  • Maintain and develop our extensive databases to provide valuable insights to our clients.
  • Establish and maintain a network of external contacts for research purposes and represent the company at international conferences.
  • Travel to meet clients and develop our client base.
Requirements
  • A good economics/science/engineering degree from a leading University.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Competent in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in biofuels/renewable energy or related agricultural processing industry.
  • An awareness of commercial constraints/opportunities in the biofuels industry.
  • The ability to work under pressure, on multiple projects to tight deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, and ability working with databases.
