About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Nurse Specialist to join our Cancer Nursing Team as a Clinical Leadership Role. This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with our team to provide high-quality patient care and lead the development of our Cancer Information Service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and management support to the Cancer Information Team
  • Work alongside the Clinical Lead to facilitate the development of a highly motivated and specialist knowledge Cancer Information Team
  • Act as an independent clinical resource for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals
  • Manage patient queries through our drop-in service, phone, and email
  • Develop and implement nursing and information assessments
  • Provide excellent communication and holistic assessment skills
  • Have a good knowledge of support services available to cancer patients, both within and outside the Trust
  • Signpost and refer patients according to their needs
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with a BSC/1st degree and post-registration qualification in an appropriate area of specialty
  • Extensive experience of working autonomously at an advanced level within an oncology/haematology/surgical oncology setting
  • Proven evidence of management and leadership in leading a team
  • Experience of delivering patient advocacy, audit, research, and evidence-based care
  • Experience of working with significant others, family, partners, of people with cancer
