Job Description

Job Title: Senior Claims Team Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Claims Team Manager to lead our Personal Injury Technical Claims team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the handling of complex, higher value personal injury claims and ensuring the team achieves the highest standards of technical quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the handling of complex, higher value personal injury claims
  • Conduct detailed reviews of claims managed by the team to ensure technical accuracy, assess performance, and identify/address training needs
  • Be a technical referral point for claims within the Technical Team and provide expert guidance and advice as required
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to enhance the performance and consistency of handlers within the Technical Team
  • Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development
  • Conduct quarterly performance reviews and develop action plans to address any areas of improvement
  • Liaise with other teams within Personal Injury and across Claims more widely to facilitate the efficient operation of the team
  • Contribute to the leadership and strategic planning of the Personal Injury Department as appropriate
  • Manage supplier relationships effectively and identify potential new partnerships that can add value to the performance of the Technical Team

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of handling complex personal injury claims
  • Extensive knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework within which these claims are handled
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to develop and implement quality control procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
