Job Title: Senior Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in mental health, with experience of working with children and young people. You will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and young people, developing and implementing care plans, and providing specialist advice and supervision to other professionals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assess the needs of children and young people with mental health needs, and develop and implement care plans to meet their needs.
  • Provide specialist advice and supervision to other professionals, including nurses, social workers, and allied health professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to ensure that children and young people receive the best possible care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to mental health care for children and young people.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans for children and young people.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant professional qualification, such as a nursing or social work degree.
  • Post-qualification training in mental health, including experience of working with children and young people.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, young people, and their families.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and guidance related to mental health care for children and young people.
