Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed nurse to become a vital member of the Haematology Specialist Nursing team at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a team dedicated to providing high-quality, individualized care to patients facing various haematological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will deliver a thorough specialist service to patients with either suspected or confirmed haematological malignancies. The primary goal of this position is to offer expert care, specialist guidance, and comprehensive support (including financial, social, and psychological) to patients with haematological conditions, along with their families and caregivers. This encompasses a holistic assessment of patients, as well as the planning and execution of specialized care. The individual in this role will serve as the primary contact for haematology patients from the initial investigation through to diagnosis and throughout their entire cancer journey, ensuring seamless coordination and continuity of care. The post holder will collaborate with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, including those from the Primary Health Care Team, to provide specialized nursing insights and expertise across all facets of Haematology-Oncology. Job Requirements

This position is open to individuals who possess a current NMC PIN to practice as a Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled in a program that will lead to obtaining their full NMC PIN within the next 2-3 months. Please note that an NMC PRN PIN does not qualify as a full NMC PIN and does not meet the essential criteria for this role.

Important Note

The NCA is currently unable to accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who have not yet completed all competencies required to obtain a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK, as we have suspended our OSCE program indefinitely. Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • Hold a degree or diploma in nursing studies (or possess an equivalent nursing qualification and experience)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) & involvement in teaching

Essential Skills

  • Registered Nurse with current NMC registration (Part 1 Adult/ General Level 1 or 2)
  • Demonstrates evidence-based clinical knowledge
  • Proficient IT skills

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge and experience in Haematology-Oncology
