Job Title: Digital Engagement Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Engagement Officer to join our team at the National Police Chiefs Council. As a key member of our digital youth engagement programme, you will be responsible for developing and delivering a comprehensive social media strategy that engages with young people across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a social media strategy that aligns with our organisational goals and objectives.
  • Manage and maintain our social media presence across multiple platforms, ensuring a consistent tone and voice.
  • Collaborate with our content production team to create engaging and informative content that resonates with our target audience.
  • Respond to complaints, questions, and calls for service in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Supervise the work of the Digital Engagement Assistant and provide training and development opportunities where appropriate.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends and platform functionality, and effectively communicate them to the wider team.
  • Work closely with our policing partners to develop and maintain professional networks and harness user-generated content.
  • Deliver briefings, webinars, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, and young people in schools and youth clubs.
  • Lead the Youth Advisory Group, facilitating monthly meetings with young people to research their opinions and experiences.

  • Proven experience in social media management and engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
