Position Overview

An Onshore Permitting Manager is sought for a leading offshore wind energy firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the onshore components of the Development Consent Order (DCO) and Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) for the initiative.
  • Supervise the outputs of onshore consultancy teams within designated areas.
  • Engage with stakeholders effectively in the relevant sectors.
  • Establish and execute Quality Assurance (QA) protocols for onshore project deliverables.
  • Facilitate robust collaboration within the project team concerning all onshore packages, focusing on consenting risks and deliverables.
  • Manage contracts and budgets related to Onshore Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
  • Assist the Consent Manager by providing insights on resource requirements, timelines, and risks associated with offshore components.
  • Report on critical obstacles within onshore workstreams to the Consent Manager.
  • Coordinate closely with the Offshore or Generation Lead, Land Manager, and Stakeholder Manager.
  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of buildable consent for onshore project elements.
  • Contribute to and shape the consenting strategy for onshore components, aligning with the overall company strategy to enhance project consent efficiency. This includes stakeholder engagement, regulatory processes, activity sequencing, project risks, and procurement approaches.
  • Continuously manage consenting risks at the project level, ensuring clear and proactive communication of potential issues to the project and strategic teams.
  • Promote a best-in-class approach to external stakeholder engagement, managing high-level interactions with key stakeholders on pertinent project matters through the Stakeholder Engagement Manager and consultants, leading to comprehensive Statements of Common Ground.
  • Identify and communicate project lessons learned to the Consent Manager.
  • Provide specialized guidance on onshore consent and environmental matters to enhance project competitiveness.
  • Support the Land Manager in securing access for survey activities and liaising with landowners.
