Job Description

Purpose of the Role

To design, build, and maintain high-performance infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using cutting-edge hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms as required. Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of the infrastructure through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Infrastructure Development: Develop, deliver, and maintain high-quality infrastructure solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring measurable reliability, performance, availability, and ease of use.
  2. Incident Management: Monitor IT infrastructure and system performance to identify, address, and resolve potential issues, vulnerabilities, or outages, using data to drive down mean time to resolution.
  3. Automation and Security: Develop and implement automated tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention, utilising software scripting/coding disciplines, and implement secure configurations to protect infrastructure against cyber-attacks and vulnerabilities.
  4. Collaboration and Innovation: Collaborate with product managers, architects, and other engineers to define IT infrastructure requirements, devise solutions, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives via a data-driven approach, and stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations.
  5. Leadership and Risk Management: Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does, and manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
