About the Role

This is a part-time, reduced year position: 30 hours per week, 39 weeks per year.

We are seeking a cleaner to support our PMLD and Complex Needs department. To ensure that our new campus is kept clean and safe for our learners.

The Vine is a department with over 60 learners with complex needs and behaviors that can challenge. We deliver a varied curriculum to meet each of our learners' individual needs in line with their EHCPs. Our highly skilled team takes pride in developing our learners' personal and preparation for adulthood skills to prepare them for their future life. We have a strong emphasis on working as a team, offering mutual support and flexibility while striving for the highest standards for our learners. Our ultimate goal is to enable our learners to become as independent as possible and lead a happy, fulfilled life.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide a high-quality, effective cleaning service to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. This includes all domestic areas, including our hygiene suites and kitchen areas.
  • Sweeping and mopping of floors
  • Keeping accurate and timely records, recording progress and strategies used, as required.
  • Assisting with emergency evacuation plans and practices, and supporting the team with all emergency evacuations.
  • Complying with policies and procedures relating to health and safety, confidentiality, and General Data Protection regulation, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
  • Applying restorative practice to communications with learners and colleagues and being a proactive, flexible, and supportive member of the team.

About You

  • Experience of cleaning.
  • Experience of working in a team and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of successful administration/IT skills.
  • Able to establish rapport and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Desirable: Experience of working with students who have high needs or SEN to support their learning through identifying strategies and preparing young people for adulthood.
