Job Description

Cranleigh STEM, Sustainability & SHEQ Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join its supply chain team based in Cambridge on a permanent basis. As their Materials Manager, you will oversee key supply chain functions with a focus on operational excellence and environmental responsibility.

  1. Ensure adherence to site supply chain management aligned with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and environmental protection protocols.
  2. Manage the site's Master Production Plan in collaboration with the Plant Manager and European Supply Chain Manager.
  3. Develop robust production schedules with risk assessments to optimize customer service levels and plant efficiency.
  4. Implement replenishment strategies to achieve agreed inventory levels for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods.
  5. Partner with plant management on initiatives to enhance throughput, quality, and efficiency.
  6. Lead local supply chain improvement projects to drive operational excellence.
  7. Develop talent within the Supply Chain function through effective coaching and talent development plans in collaboration with Regional/Global teams.

Materials Manager Requirements:

  1. Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
  2. Knowledge of raw material planning, procurement, scheduling, and inventory control systems.
  3. Willingness to travel internationally 10 – 15% of the time.
