Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Export Control team at Mane Contract Services. As the Head of Export Control and Compliance, you will be responsible for ensuring our export control compliance within the UK under relevant export control regimes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely export license services and conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with export control regulations.
  • Host external audits and build relationships with government bodies, such as the ECJU and the Ministry of Defence, as well as partner companies like BAE Systems.
  • Oversee the Export Control Service in the UK, ensuring compliance while supporting organisational objectives, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring they are up to date.
  • Negotiate amendments to existing Export Control contracts where necessary, removing liabilities, and closing agreements.
  • Gather knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned to ensure the organisation is equipped with the appropriate processes, tools, and records to effectively manage Export Control activities.
  • Lead the UK Export Control Team, providing functional management and development responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Export Control and Compliance.
  • Strong commercial and cultural understanding of the implications of operating across various export domains.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to lead teams and drive change.
  • Strong ability to build effective working relationships with Directors and Business Managers.
  • Experience in fostering positive engagement with partners, suppliers, and customers.
  • Expertise in export licensing services and compliance with regulations, including conducting internal audits and hosting external audits.
  • Solid understanding of legal implications and regulations related to export control.
  • Ability to provide vision and leadership to the UK Export Control Team while supporting broader organisational commitments.
