We are currently seeking an Oncology Pharmacy Supervisor to join our dedicated Pharmacy Department.

This full-time position requires flexibility in shift patterns to meet the needs of the department.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Possession of a Pharmacy degree (M Pharm, B Pharm, or BSc) and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a licensed Pharmacist.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a UK hospital pharmacy setting, including team management and budget oversight.
  • Demonstrated organizational and planning capabilities, with a focus on risk management and achieving results.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with the General Pharmaceutical Council's Codes of Professional Conduct, Ethics, and Performance.
  • Understanding of the Care Standards Act and Care Quality Commission requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients undergoing Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
  • Overseeing that all prescriptions are accurately recorded in the electronic prescribing system.
  • Timely submission of requests for new treatment protocols.
  • Promoting evidence-based medicine and adherence to nationally recognized best practices for oncology patients.
  • Providing expert guidance on the management, prescribing, and procurement of medications within an oncology setting.
  • Inspiring and motivating pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals to take ownership of medication management services.
  • Participating as a member of the multidisciplinary oncology team.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of corporate and hospital prescribing guidelines and oncology policies.
  • Serving as an educational resource for staff and patients regarding oncology medications.
