About the Role

Lloyd's is seeking a Senior Market Governance and Risk Professional to support the Market Governance, Risk, and Resilience Senior Manager and the Head of Market Governance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for undertaking expert analysis of a range of submissions and documents from the market to assess the level of maturity and the degree to which managing agents are undertaking good practice and are in line with the expectations of Principles-Based Oversight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze a range of managing agent documents, such as ORSAs, Board Effectiveness Reviews, and Board Packs, to make recommendations to the Senior Manager on whether additional oversight activity is required.
  • Operate the Governance Indicators Framework, engaging with internal teams, providing reports to the Senior Manager on any changes and developments that may need to involve Account Managers or Oversight Teams, and preparing reports to the Market Oversight Group.
  • Provide support to the Senior Manager and Head of Function in conducting oversight, including meetings with Board Directors and Senior Executives of managing agents to discuss Risk Management and Governance.
  • Manage the change of control process for managing agents, including reviewing applications and providing summaries of transactions to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Relevant governance and risk management experience.
  • Significant experience managing activities, priorities, and people up to a senior level.
  • Experience advising on risk management, performance, and regulation.
  • Exposure to presenting to and/or communicating with regulators.
  • Regulatory expectations in regard to governance and risk management.
  • The factors that drive strong governance, an effective Board, developing and executing a successful strategy, and pitfalls to avoid.
  • Knowledge of business process and systems change tools and best practice principles.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional and productive relationships internally and externally with key decision-makers, ensuring decisions are made and communicated in a timely, transparent, and well-articulated manner.
  • Influence and negotiate using an appropriate style for the situation, collaborate effectively, and build consensus.
  • Demonstrate empathy and gather insights that help to drive the Corporation's understanding of and response to issues and opportunities.
