We are seeking an experienced Satellite Ground Systems Specialist to join our team at Amazon Kuiper Services Europe SARL, UK Branch - Q18. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Ground Terminal Installations: You will lead teams performing onsite ground terminal installations and commissioning at hundreds of sites globally.
  • Deliver Operational Sites: You will deliver operational sites to the Kuiper Operations Team, including physical, network, RF, calibration, and site acceptance.
  • Site Troubleshooting and Maintenance: You will support site troubleshooting and maintenance to provide an unparalleled customer experience.
  • Partner Engagement: You will engage with industry-leading partners to execute our installation strategy.
  • Process Development: You will develop installation processes, mechanisms, and standard operating procedures supporting terminal installation at scale.
  • System Test and Verification: You will design system test and verification processes and document in at-scale mechanisms.
  • Project Management: You will manage tactical interactions with partners to ensure milestones, deliverables, and technical artifacts are technically compliant with project objectives and programmatic requirements.
  • Team Leadership: You will work with stakeholder teams to deliver terminals in sync with ground implementation goals.
  • Training and Development: You will develop team training plans and materials.
  • Communication and Reporting: You will communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks, and change control.
  • Problem-Solving and Innovation: You will relentlessly simplify and innovate to solve challenging site installation and integration problems.
  • Regional Leadership: You will own our efforts in the EMEA region, potentially growing and leading our team in the region.
About the Team

The Ground Systems team is responsible for the architecture, design, build, and installation of Kuiper's Ground and TT&C Gateways. Our Ground Gateways enable high data rate, low latency communications between Kuiper points of presence and our Low Earth Orbit Satellite constellation.

The team works closely with Ground Infrastructure Services, Networks, Regulatory, Payload Test, and RF Systems teams to ensure Kuiper provides a seamless customer experience.

Requirements
  • Experience in Satellite Communications Ground Systems and Operations: You will have experience working in satellite communications ground systems and operations.
  • Network Integration Experience: You will have network integration experience in troubleshooting and onsite support.
  • Technical Discipline or Equivalent Experience: You will have a Bachelor's degree with a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Leadership Experience: You will have experience leading projects among cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes, and coordinating delivery schedules.
  • Satellite Communications Experience: You will have experience with satellite communications earth stations or network development, deployment, and operation.
  • Global Project Experience: You will have experience leading globally located earth station projects.
  • Kaband Experience: You will have Kaband experience as related to earth/ground station infrastructure.
  • Collaboration and Communication Skills: You will have the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a highly motivated team who insists on the highest standards and deliver systems which delight customers.
  • Leadership and Mentoring Experience: You will have experience leading and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Technical and Problem-Solving Skills: You will have excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • LEO and/or MEO Satellite Systems Experience: You will have experience with LEO and/or MEO satellite systems.
  • Program Management Tools Experience: You will have expertise with program management tools (Smartsheet, Confluence, JIRA).
