Position: Lead Estimator

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 (commensurate with experience) + Car Allowance, Pension contributions, etc.

In response to an increase in project demand, they are seeking a Lead Estimator to join their dynamic team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in construction, development, and refurbishment initiatives across a diverse range of sectors.

Project Scope:
The company undertakes a variety of projects, including:
  • Residential
  • Commercial

  • Refurbishments
  • Fit-Outs
  • Mixed-Use Developments

Tender values typically range from £500k to £10 million.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and assess potential incoming inquiries.
  • Maintain current market knowledge regarding labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and distribute subcontract and material inquiries utilizing the conquest inquiry system.
  • Generate precise take-offs using Excel when necessary.
  • Manage inquiries for labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors as directed.
  • Work on a variety of tenders.
  • Analyze pricing for bills/schedules and create quote comparisons using estimating software.
  • Complete tender pricing for review by the tender committee, highlighting any risks or challenging conditions.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Manager and Operational Director to evaluate programs and preliminaries.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and prepare procurement reports.
  • Implement Value Management techniques at the project outset.
  • Prepare information for handover to the contract team on secured projects.
  • Assist in the development of the company’s estimating library.
  • Review tender documentation and measure tenders accordingly.
  • Provide decision analysis and inform the Tender Committee on contract conditions.
