About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at NHS Property Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting the delivery of excellent patient care by ensuring the maintenance of our healthcare properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver scheduled, reactive, and remedial maintenance services as directed by the PPM planner (CAFM), helpdesk, or Technical Services Supervisor, ensuring operational standards are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with all NHSPS Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policies, relevant NHSPS Technical Guidance, Process and Procedures, Statutory Regulations, Approved Codes of Practice, and any applicable aspects of HTMs.
  • Undertake tasks in disciplines other than your own, including fault finding, minor repairs, or installations, and maintaining services and equipment within critical environments.
  • Assess problems to determine the best course of action, including complex technical issues, and communicate technical and complex information to various stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective site log books at all NHS premises where required, ensuring they are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements:

  • At least one of the following qualifications: BTEC City & Guilds plus relevant experience and training, NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent, or a formal apprenticeship or craft-trained equivalent.
  • Driving licence is essential.
  • Must be comfortable using technological devices to log jobs.
  • On-Call availability.
  • Desirable to have industry experience.
  • Ability to work alone and/or as part of a wider team.
