Bank Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bank Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons Family Solutions. As a Bank Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious meals for children in our care, while ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for children, adhering to Bright Horizons' set menus and recipes.
- Manage dietary requirements and ensure that all children's needs are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external health and safety standards.
- Lead cookery club sessions with children, promoting healthy eating and nutrition.
- Support with nursery activities, such as BBQs and Fetes.
- Manage stock levels and record keeping, in line with company procedure.
- Work in partnership with the nursery team and parents to encourage a healthy and nutritious diet.
- Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety, and safeguarding.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a commercial catering environment role, preferably within childcare or care home setting.
- Passion for nutrition and inspiring others in healthy eating.
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - this must be passed on day 1 in post.
- Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
- Experience of EHO interaction during Food Safety & Hygiene inspections.
- Great communication skills, with both colleagues, children, and parents.
- Ability to work under pressure.
